Pisanitsa near the Idris cave

Among the many caves associated with the name of Salavat, this one is probably one of the most picturesque. Salavat Yulaev's cave has many names: Idrisovskaya, Dvortsovaya, Kissiatash or simply Palace. Many legends are connected with it, including the legend that Salavat Yulaev was hiding from persecution here. No one has yet been able to confirm this, but the majestic legends are the whole essence of these places.
Not far from the cave there are many centers of modern civilization. Nearby is the village of Idrisovo, from which there is a path to the entrance to the Palace. From here, Maloyaz can be reached on the river by boat and catamaran in one day.

Inside and out of the cave
Salavat's hideout can be seen from afar on the left bank of the river. It is located high in the rock, a narrow path leads to the entrance. The most beautiful part of the cave is a man-made "viewing platform" with columns 40 meters above the river: from it you can see the bends of the river and the valley along the banks. From the water, the cave looks like two "windows", and inside-like a small hall with an arched entrance and low-hanging ceilings.
In the depths of the cave there are halls, passages and narrow manholes, small stalactites that are interesting for speleotourists. The only way to get into the bowels of this rock is to crawl like a plastunsky or crawl on your heels. After a narrow manhole, you will open an exit to the hall, where you can straighten up. On the left side there is a corridor and another hall, which has a narrow manhole. The walls and floor are covered with wet clay, there are puddles, water drips from the ceiling. It is interesting to observe that a white substance, similar to lime, flows down the walls — mondmilch.
The total length of the cave is about 100 meters. Inside, it's cool and damp, and there's a window that lets you see the second floor. In the entrance grotto, people saw drawings from the Paleolithic period.

Evidence of rock art
In the eastern "window" back in the 1930s, drawings made with red pigment were found. These are three figures of little men. Half a century later, scientists continued to find similar images, but by that time (in the 1980s) they were very poorly preserved. Judging by the remains of the oldest sites, people lived here in the Paleolithic era (about 2.5 million years ago). Now you can walk through the places of their habitations.

To get to places of amazing beauty with an incredible history and legends, you do not need to go far away: everything beautiful lives in the Yangantau geopark. The whole world lives in you
