According to one version, the name comes from the Bashkir dialect ҡor (literary ҡur) — "sourdough", "malt", "strength", "might" and the ancient Bashkir ғaҙaҡ — "river". According to another version, ҡor (ҡoro) means "dry", "drying up" and the ancient Bashkir wordҙaҡ means "river".
The spring is formed by several powerful griffins, whose water is squeezed onto the earth's surface along tectonic faults. The height of the rising water is 600-800 meters, so it has a constant temperature all year round - about 16 degrees. By its chemical composition, bicarbonate, magnesium-calcium water contains active trivalent arsenic acid. Despite the high content of microelements useful for the body in the water of the Kurgazak spring, it has practically no taste.
The healing properties of water from a mineral spring are also widely known. For many years it has been used to treat stomach diseases such as gastritis, ulcers, liver diseases, pancreatitis, etc. When ingested, water has a slight analgesic effect. In the nearby Yangan-Tau sanatorium, mineral water is actively used for various procedures, including for external use - baths, showers, and a swimming pool. Water is supplied to the sanatorium through a specially laid water supply system.
