Bolshaya Luka Geological Section
Projected geological natural monument of the Republic of Bashkortostan. The stratotype of the Bashkir stage of the Carboniferous period.
The section is located opposite the village of Bolshaya Luka, on the left bank of the Yuryuzan River, 15 km northeast of the station. Kropachevo. It was described by S.V. Semikhatova as "a typical outcrop of Bashkir strata on the Western slope of the Urals" and characterized by the brachiopod fauna. It belongs to the Lacklin type. A special feature is the binomial structure of the Bashkir stage: carbonate at the bottom and mostly terrigenous at the top.
