Dear residents and guests of the Yangan-Tau geopark!
If you are familiar with the geological history of our geopark, then you know that many years ago there was a warm tropical ocean, which after millions of years was replaced by cold steppes and forests. Then, for our geopark, the time of giants came: in the valleys of the Ai and Yuryuzan rivers, mammoths, woolly rhinos, large deer, cave bears and other representatives of the Pleistocene megafauna wandered. We really want to restore this story. Undoubtedly, this is possible with your help. If suddenly you find unusual large bones, we ask you to perform three simple steps:
1. Remember where and when you found the bone (desirable to record on paper or smartphone, take a picture, make a label with coordinates).
2. Do not attempt to peel, cut, or use any other method of bone examination that causes it to deform.
3. Pass the bone to the staff (biologists) of the Yangan-Tau geopark for further exploring, defining and placing a geopark in museums or other friendly museums. The necessary contacts are listed on our website http://en.geopark-yangantau.ru/o-geoparke/kontakty/
Let's discover more together and tell the story of our geopark!
