Karga Butkahy is a traditional Bashkir festival dedicated to the meeting of spring. It is held in the spring-summer period and is timed to the end of the spring field work. The holiday has long been celebrated in every Bashkir settlement.
Before the adoption of Islam, the holiday was devoted to the cult of the bird, which was associated with ideas about the ability of the souls of the dead people to turn into birds and animals. Elements of this cult remained in the holiday to the present.

Near the rural club of the Mechetlino village, everyone could see the concert, learn more about the Yangan-Tau geopark and take part in a geological quiz with prizes. After that, the geo-guide of geopark Sariya Bikbulatova conducted an excursion to the geological section of Mechetlino. In the courtyard of the local mosque held a theatrical performance and entertainment festive cereal and sweets. Vacationers of the Yangan-Tau sanatorium also visited the mosque.

We thank all the Mechetlino activists who arranged a wonderful holiday for themselves and their guests! Also, thanks to the creative team from the Urmanchino village!
