On the 14th and 15th of July, at the invitation of Yangan-Tau Geopark, Vladimir Shirokov, a well-known archeologist, a specialist in rock painting and a senior researcher of the Institute of History and Archaeology of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, visited our region. He came here to monitor the state of prehistoric painting located along the Yuriuzan River. Accompanied by the director of the Salavat Yulayev Museum, Zilya Sadykova, and the historian of the Yangan-Tau Geopark, Ayrat Galiev, the scientist examined several scribblers.
During the short expedition the drawings of Ust'-Katavskaya I, Ust'-Katavskaya II, Yeltsovskaya and Idrisovskaya II were examined.
Vladimir Shirokov emphasized the importance of these drawings and recommended to think over the measures of protection of masterpieces of rock art in the future, especially given the increased recreational load.
Further cooperation will be continued and we hope that by joint efforts of scientists, the administration of the geopark and local residents we will be able to preserve the monuments of archeology.
