Annually in September in Russia there is an action "Crane Day", which is supervised by the Working Group on Eurasian Cranes and the Russian Bird Conservation Union. Within the framework of this action, the Yangan-Tau Geopark collected information about the places of preflight autumn crane agglomerations. Information about the action was posted on the official website of the geopark and in social networks, and the announcement was sent to educational institutions of Salavat district.
As a result, we managed to get information from several observers. Information about migrating grey cranes was received from both the Salavat district and the neighbouring Duvan district. It is worth noting that some people confuse grey herons with cranes.
As it was promised in the announcement of the action: all participants of the crane "census" will receive electronic Diplomas of the participants of the action. Prizes from the geopark will be received by a geo-guide, a teacher of the Bashkir gymnasium in Maloyaz Ismagilov Ilyfat Rifatovich, who sent the most valuable data (he videotaped a flock of 19 gray cranes on September 22 over the yurt camping "Shaitan-kudey" on the outskirts of Idrisovo village).
