Kazyrbak geological section

On the right bank of the Yuryuzan River 3 km north-east of the village of Maloyaz, north-west of the village of Kyzyrbak. It is noteworthy that limestone is exposed and forms an anticlinal fold. A pile of limestone with a thickness of about 20 m, according to R.M. Ivanova [1995], belongs to the Akavas-Askynbash horizons of the Bashkir tier and is overlaid with dark claystones. In the sample taken from the lower part of the outcrop, limestone foraminifera-algae contains several shells of foraminifera Staffellaeformes staffellaeformis (Kireeva), a zonal species of the Askynbash horizon.
